The Ivan Allen Digital Archive contains local and national correspondence to Mayor Allen in response to his testimony before the Senate in favor of the public accommodations bill that would become the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Some letters praised Mayor Allen as a hero, while others derided him as a traitor. My students created websites showcasing these letters.
